AGRA: A woman

activist

from a

right-wing outfit

was arrested for performing a

water ritual

and hoisting a

saffron flag

at the Taj Mahal, claiming the monument used to be a Shiva temple, on the third Monday of Sawan.
Meera Rathore

, associated with Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), was detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). “She is being questioned.

We are trying to identify the person who recorded her videos. We will hand her over to the police and lodge a formal complaint about the incident,” a senior CISF official said.
At the time of filing this report, the CISF had not handed over the ABHM worker to the police. “So far, we have not received any complaint nor has the CISF handed over anyone to us,” Tajganj SHO Jasveer Singh said. Two days earlier, two individuals from the same organisation were arrested and jailed for allegedly performing a similar ritual at the Unesco World Heritage Site.
