Wipro promotes over 31 senior executives to SVP, VP roles

Published:

Indian IT giant

Wipro

has promoted six employees to senior vice president (SVP) roles and 25 others to vice president (VP) roles. The Bengaluru-headquartered company informed its employees the same in an internal memo. News agency Reuters has seen the memo.
Among the ones promoted to SVP roles are Wipro’s Chief Delivery Officer

Ajit Mahale

, healthcare portfolio leader Anuj Kumar, Capco CFO Benjamin Simon, Canada country head Kim Watson, Europe cloud sales head Srinivasaa HG, and the head of its cloud arm’s strategy and execution arm Satish Y.

Wipro confirms promotions
“Wipro congratulates all our leaders who have been promoted to Senior Vice President and Vice President positions. These promotions are part of Wipro’s ongoing commitment to developing strong internal leaders, who are critical in driving our strategy forward,” said a Wipro spokesperson, confirming the development.

Promotions aimed at reducing senior-level exodus
The promotions are reportedly a move to stem senior-level attrition. Wipro has seen a series of high-profile exits in the last few months. These include Mohd Haque, SVP and head of healthcare and medical devices for the Americas; Ashish Saxena, SVP and head of the manufacturing and hi-tech business unit; finance chief Jatin Dalal; Chief Growth Officer Stephanie Trautman; and Digital and Cloud head Barath Narayanan.
Of these, most recently, Trautman and Narayanan resigned to join mid-sized peer Persistent Systems. In its previous promotion cycle in January 2023, Wipro had elevated 73 employees to SVP (12) and VP (61) roles.
Amid a slowdown in growth in the $250-billion sector, most software services exporters have limited promotions and hikes given to their employees.
