NEW DELHI: Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar played in the
Hong Kong Cricket Sixes
Tournament in the 1990s.
The tournament, known for its fast-paced, entertaining format, featured many prominent cricketers from around the world. Tendulkar, one of India’s greatest
cricket
legends, represented India in some editions of the tournament in 1990s.
The
Hong Kong Sixes
is a six-a-side cricket tournament with a unique set of rules designed for quick, high-scoring games, typically held in a round-robin format followed by knockouts.
It allowed fans to see top-level international players in a more relaxed, fun atmosphere.
Tendulkar’s participation added star power to the event, even though it wasn’t a major fixture in the international cricket calendar.
This event is remembered fondly by fans for offering a rare opportunity to see legends of the game play in a completely different format.
And now the
Hong Kong
Sixes is set to return after a seven-year hiatus and India will participate in this year’s edition has added to the anticipation.
Team India will take part in the 20th edition of the Hong Kong Sixes, which will be held from November 1 to 3 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.

has confirmed India’s participation through a social media post, stating, “Team India is gearing up to smash it out of the park at HK6! Prepare for explosive power hitting and a storm of sixes that will electrify the crowd!”
