The nature of the Bollywood world is very volatile. One day you can be an icon, a star whose effigies are being worshiped, and the next moment you can be a pale image lurking in the shadows of the glam world. Trust us when we say that almost every legendary star has witnessed such a phase, a downfall where he felt ‘now this is rock bottom’; even megastar Amitabh Bachchan came face to face with the reality of his declining stardom.
When Amitabh saw his downfall, he also saw his peers climbing the ladder of stardom. He himself confessed that there was a time when his ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ star Govinda was more popular than him among the audience. The two stars were shooting for Hum when a certain incident happened, speaking volumes about the stardom the Raja Babu actor had attained amongst fans.
In an interview with Movie Magazine, Amitabh Bachchan shared an incident when a young lot of people approached him for an autograph during the shoot of ‘Hum.’ He was working with Govinda, and as the fans came close to him to get an autograph, one of them pointed out that they were supposed to take the autograph of Govind and not Big B.
“I was shooting with Govinda for Hum when a group of young kids came up to me, and one of the boys asked for an autograph. Govinda was standing next to me. There was a young, cute girl who gave him a slap and said, ‘Woh nahin, yeh. Govinda ka autograph lo‘ (Not him. Take Govinda’s autograph),” shared the actor.

Reflecting on the incident, she gracefully accepted that people do want to watch the younger lot.
He admitted to making mistakes that he kept trying to rectify with one film after another. He added that back then it was the turn of the younger boys as their target audiences were
between 18 and 30.
For the unversed, Big B earlier disclosed that creditors even came to his house as he owed a lot of people a huge amount of money. Amid his bad debt situation, he didn’t have much work as well. Nevertheless, he then rose to fame in his second innings with ‘Mohabbatein.’
