Ananya Panday reveals her mother Bhavana once deactivated her secret Facebook account: 'I could get it only when I was of legal age'

Ananya Panday’s recent collaboration with Vikramaditya Motwane for the OTT show ‘

CTRL

‘ has gained decent reviews from fans and critics alike. The show highlights the potential dangers of

social media

when not used responsibly.
Ananya, who recognizes the impact of social media on

mental health

, is contemplating an online detox after promoting her films and projects to safeguard her well-being.

She shares that her mother, Bhavana, previously had her deactivate her first social media account, only allowing her to return when she reached legal age.

In a chat with PTI, Ananya talked about her show, ‘CTRL’. She discussed the negative effects of social media on mental health, recalling a time when her mother, costume designer Bhavana Pandey, became upset after discovering Ananya had secretly created a Facebook account. In response, Bhavana, like any concerned mother, deactivated Ananya’s account for several years. “I could get it only when I was of legal age,” she revealed.

The ‘Call Me Bae’ actress further revealed that she created her Instagram account before her acting career, keeping it private at the time. “I’ve always had a lot of fun with it. I kind of have maintained the same thing. I keep it as real as possible,” she added. The actress expressed that she enjoys using the platform and strives to keep it authentic by posting whatever she likes without taking it too seriously. However, she acknowledged that her relationship with social media continues to evolve.

Ananya has been promoting thriller movies on social media, and she has been posting a lot of content to get people to watch the movie. “But I think I’m going to be taking that much-needed

digital detox

because it does affect your mental health,” she concluded. Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘CTRL’ also features Vihaan Samat and is currently streaming on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday is currently busy shooting her next movie, ‘Shankara’.
