According to Sacnilk, it had an overall occupancy of 12.87 percent on its opening day, with about 3,500 shows across India.
The Raaj Shaandhilyaa directorial was released alongside Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra.
So far, it has earned only Rs 1.61 crore, according to Sacnilk. The Vasan Bala-directed film had an overall occupancy of 14.83 percent on Friday but surprisingly had fewer shows than the Rajkummar Rao film.
Jigra
marks Alia Bhatt’s return to the big screen after her 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, where she starred alongside Ranveer Singh.
Rajkummar was recently seen in the blockbuster ‘

‘, which also featured Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Released on Independence Day, the film grossed over Rs 855 crore worldwide.
On the other hand, Triptii Dimri’s latest project was ‘Bad Newz’, alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, which opened to Rs 8.3 crore and eventually earned over Rs 113 crore globally. Additionally, she starred in Animal with Ranbir Kapoor, which became one of the highest-grossing films of 2023, collecting over Rs 900 crore.
Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is likely to join the ranks of Rajkummar Rao’s lowest opening films. His earlier releases, Srikanth and ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, debuted with earnings of Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 6.75 crore, respectively, on their opening days in India.
