1. It is said that the war between Shri Ram and Ravan went on for 87 with a few rest days as well in between. 2. Jambavan, the King of Bears, reminded Lord Hanuman of his forgotten powers and encouraged him to fly through the ocean in search of Mata Sita. 3. Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman spent 11 years of exile, out of 14, in the forest of Chitrakoot. 4. Lord Ram had with him a powerful bow named ‘Sarang’ and the one he broke belonged to Lord Shiva and was called ‘Pinaka’. 5. Ravan was a Veena maestro and his flag too had a Veena inscribed on it. 6. Lakshman’s wife, Urmila, slept for 14 years to enable Lakshman to stay awake and vigilant during the entire period of Ram, Sita, and Lakshman’s exile. 7. According to legends and scriptures, Kakabhushundi, a sage, had the boon of time travelling and was thus able to see the Ramayan 11 times.
