What is emotional intelligence?
Emotional intelligence or EQ is the ability to understand, utilize, and handle one’s own emotions. This in turn helps in easing stress, supporting good communication and empathizing with others.

They’re great at expressing their emotions
Your child is emotionally intelligent if they can express their feelings and emotions. They do not hold themselves back, whether it means laughing, crying, being angry or upset.

They can tell what they’re feeling
The most beautiful thing about emotionally intelligent kids is that they can label their feelings. They can – very easily – use words from their known vocabulary to label their emotions.

They show empathy
Emotionally intelligent kids are empathetic, which is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

They are good communicators
They have strong communication skills and aren’t afraid to talk.

They’re good listeners too
As we all know, communication is a two-way street. So, an emotionally intelligent child is not just a good talker, but a good listener too.

They can calm down on their own
They have the ability to calm themselves down and since they understand the importance of patience, they reflect it in their actions.
