RS polls: BJP fields Nadda from Gujarat, Chavan from Maha

from Gujarat and Ashok Chavan, who recently joined the saffron party after quitting Congress, from Maharashtra.
In its latest list, BJP has declared four names from Gujarat and three from Maharashtra. Besides Nadda, BJP nominated Govindbhai Dholakia, Mayanbhai Nayak and Jashvantsinh Parmar from Gujarat.

For Maharashtra, the saffron party has named Medha Kulkarna and Ajit Gopchhade.

Earlier today, BJP announced that it’s nominating Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw from Odisha and L Muruan from Madhya Pradesh for the upcoming elections.
From Madhya Pradesh, BJP named three more candidates besides Murugan, the MoS in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for the five vacancies from the state. These include Umesh Nath Maharaj, Maya Maroliya and Bansilal Gurjar.
On Sunday, BJP had named 14 candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls, including former Union minister R P N Singh and Sudhanshu Trivedi – the only outgoing MP renominated by the party so far.
It later named two more candidates from Rajasthan, dropping outgoing MP and Union minister Bhupender Yadav, who is likely to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
As many as 56 members of Rajya Sabha from 15 states are retiring in April and the election to the seats will be held on February 27. The last date for filing nominations is February 15.
