in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling category at the Paris Olympics 2024. His remarkable achievement made him India’s youngest-ever Olympic medallist.
Aman secured victory over Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz with a convincing score line of 13-5. This win marked India’s first wrestling medal at the Paris Games and the sixth overall.
Notably, Aman surpassed PV Sindhu’s record, achieving this feat at the age of 21 years and 24 days.
Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone congratulated him for this win. Ranveer Singh referred to Aman as “Haryane ka sher” (Lion of Haryana) in an Instagram story, accompanied by a tricolour emoji. Deepika Padukone also shared a picture of the athlete to express her support.
Other actors, including Jackky Bhagnani and Randeep Hooda, joined in congratulating Aman. Jackky Bhagnani praised Aman’s debut performance, emphasising that this was just the beginning. His victory adds to India’s medal tally at the Paris 2024 Olympics, making it the second-most successful Games in terms of medals. Aman’s achievement exemplifies determination and resilience, inspiring future generations of Indian wrestlers.
