NEW DELHI: The
National Testing Agency
(NTA) opened
online registration
for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 on Friday evening. The
deadline
for registration is
March 9
until 9 pm.
According to Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines, i.e., BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act.
NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy.
Military Nursing Service (MNS) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Courses being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2024 are required to qualify for NEET (UG). The NEET (UG) score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.
While the application fee for a general candidate is Rs 1,700, for General-EWS/OBC-NCL, it is Rs 1,600, and for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender, it is Rs 1,000.
The date of the pen-paper mode examination is May 5, 2024. Last year, NEET (UG) registered a record application of 20.87 lakh, crossing the 20 lakh mark for the first time, thereby becoming India’s biggest competitive exam.
