NIA releases new photos of Rameswaram Cafe blast suspect

, which took over the case on March 3, has sought the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who is believed to have planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the popular Bengaluru eatery on March 1.

The NIA has urged citizens to come forward with any information that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect, offering a reward of ₹10 lakh for valuable information.

The agency had released two videos of the suspect on Friday. The videos, posted on NIA’s official X handle, show the suspect travelling in a bus and moving around at a pillared structure. It is apparent from the videos that he had a change of clothes, swapping the shirt he wore in the last photograph released by NIA, for a T-shirt.
His baseball camp is no longer there in one of the videos, though his backpack, jeans and shoes remain intact.

Cafe reopens
Meanwhile, the Rameshwaram Cafe resumed operations on Saturday with enhanced security measures. Metal detectors have been installed at the entrance, and customers are subjected to screening using handheld detectors to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
