Cinema Lovers Day

, celebrated by exhibitors nationwide, advance bookings are surging.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, top chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis have already sold 57,000 tickets a day before its release. With more awareness expected, advance bookings are projected to exceed 100,000 tickets.

In addition to the top national chains, MovieMax has also chipped in around 1700 tickets, and there’s still a day left before the release.

On Cinema Lovers Day, tickets for all films are offered at a flat rate of Rs 99. This promotional strategy has proven successful in the past, with films like Article 370 and Crakk seeing higher-than-usual collections. Now, the Rajkummar Rao-Janhvi Kapoor starrer is poised to replicate that success. Considering the strong advance bookings and lack of competition from new releases, ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ could potentially open to around Rs 5 crores nett. The film is expected to garner significant momentum on its opening day, especially if audiences embrace it wholeheartedly.

Janhvi Kapoor steals the spotlight at ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ exclusive preview

While the subsidized ticket prices might deter some prospective viewers who would have watched the film regardless, this is a minor trade-off. ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ is poised to receive positive press coverage, thanks to its strong opening driven by advance bookings. Audiences generally flock to content with hype and excitement, and with the first day discounts, the film is guaranteed to attract more footfalls on its opening day than it would have during its first weekend.
