BHOPAL: A woman pilot was injured after a trainer
aircraft crash
landed in
Guna
district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
The plane had taken off from
Neemuch
to
Dhana airstrip
in Sagar around 11:30 am. Technical snag is suspected to be the cause of the crash, officials said.
Officials said the pilot identified as Nancy Mishra, who was a student of the
Chimes Aviation Academy
, in Sagar had sought to make an emergency landing at the Guna aerodrome after reporting an engine issue.
However, during the landing attempt, the aircraft collided with a tree and crashed into bushes near a pond around 4 pm. Police and administrative teams reached the spot. The area of the crash has been cordoned off, restricting access. The CID team also conducted an inspection of the site.
Sub-Inspector Chanchal Mishra told media that the trainee aircraft was en route from Neemuch to Sagar when a malfunction occurred, leading to the emergency landing and subsequent crash. The aircraft belonged to Chimes Aviation Academy, Dhana.
