Mahesh Bhatt and MM Kreem or Keeravani as the world now knows him, go a long way. One of the first messages that was sent to the Naatu Naatu composer after he won the coveted Oscar was from Mahesh Bhatt with the filmmaker saying, “You charmed the world with your heartfelt speech. A feeling of personal pride floods me.”
Which was promptly replied by the composer who gave a quirky acceptance speech at the Oscars. Mahesh Bhatt was very moved by watching Keeravani sing his speech. “I get a feeling of a personal pride, joy and triumph. The world is just waking up to a genius,” the veteran filmmaker said.
Previously, while speaking to ETimes after Keeravani won the Golden Globe, Mahesh Bhatt had said, “Simplicity is what defines Keeravani ji. The man who made India proud spoke straight from his heart and his simplicity was so disarmed. It was so heartening to see a person walk up there and share the moment of glory with the entire team. This is a rare attribute.”
Recalling their past collaborations, Bhatt had revealed, “I have had the privilege of working with him, thanks to Pooja who cast him in her movie and he made some outstanding melodies for us. Gali Mein Aaj Chaand Nikla from Zakhm, Awarapan Banjarapan from Jism, Maine Dil Se Kaha from Rog. These melodies come from his heart and are laced with soul. Thank you Keeravani ji for making India proud.”
