Anthony Russo emphasized the complexity and entertainment value of Doctor Doom, calling him one of the most fascinating characters in fiction. He stated that to do justice to the character, they needed the best actor in the world. Highlighting the Marvel Universe’s endless possibilities, he introduced the one person fit for the role: Robert Downey Jr., who then took center stage and unveiled himself as Doctor Doom.

RDJ stunned fans by appearing in the iconic green Doctor Doom robe and metal mask.
