Photos of dummy units of the base
iPhone 16
model have surfaced online. The leaked image reveals five colour options and a redesigned camera island for the upcoming
iPhone
16. The leak comes ahead of the expected September launch of the iPhone 16 lineup which may include four models — iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
iPhone 16 expected colours and design
Tipster Sonny Dickson has revealed the design and colour options of the upcoming iPhone 16 in a post shared on social media platform X (earlier Twitter).
The photo attached to the post shows off the dummy iPhone 16 units in black, blue, green, pink and white colour options. The colours on the dummy units look more saturated than the pastel colours on last year’s iPhone 15 models.
Earlier,
Apple
analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested similar colour options for the standard iPhone 16 model. To compare, Apple offered last year’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models in Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Yellow colours which had a matte finish.
The leaked image also suggests that Apple may pack a redesigned camera bump on the iPhone 16 with vertically aligned lenses. The existing models have a diagonal camera arrangement and the new lens arrangement is expected to enable the base models to capture
Spatial Video
for the Vision Pro headset. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can record Spatial Video.
Just like the iPhone 15 models, the base iPhone 16 models are also likely to have a matte finish and may house the power button on the right spine of the phone. The rumoured Capture button seems to be placed below the power button.
Apart from this, the iPhone 16 is expected to boast a 6.1-inch OLED display. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are rumoured to come powered by an A18 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process while the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are likely to run on an A18 Pro chip.
