HYDERABAD: A 13-year-old
rape survivor
from Hyderabad’s
Jalpally
was found murdered on Friday. Her body was found in Katedan industrial area with the head smashed. Police registered a case for rape and
murder
under relevant sections of the law as well as the
Pocso Act
, and launched a search for her rapist who is suspected to be the killer.
The girl, a class 7 studentwith her family that had migrated from Karnataka.
The suspect had been harassing the teen claiming that he was in love with her, police said. The minor’s parents in their police complaint said they were forced to move to another locality out of fear for their daughter.
Two months ago, the accused traced the girl’s new home and began harassing her again. He went on to abduct her, took her to his house and allegedly raped her. He even threatened her with dire consequences if she didn’t oblige to his demands, police said.
