The British High Commission in India is set to offer 3,000 visas under its India Young Professionals Scheme through the ballot system, which is set to begin on Tuesday. They said, “The first ballot of the #IndiaYoungProfessionalsScheme opens in less than 24 hours! If you’re an Indian graduate who wants to live, work or study in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years, you can enter the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa.”

NEW DELHI: The

British High Commission

in India is set to offer 3,000 visas under its

India Young Professionals Scheme

through the

ballot system

, which is set to begin on Tuesday.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the British High Commission in India has shared the details about the first ballot.
The post said, “The first ballot of the #IndiaYoungProfessionalsScheme opens in less than 24 hours! If you’re an Indian graduate who wants to live, work or study in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years, you can enter the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa.”
“There are 3,000 places available for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa in 2024.

Most places will be made available in the February ballot. The remaining places will be made available in the July ballot,” the UK Government website said.
Key Application details for the UK’s India Young Professionals

  • The ballot will be open from 2:30 pm on 20 February 2024 to 2:30pm on 22 February 2024, giving candidates a two-day window to apply.
  • It is important to note that there is no fee to enter the ballot.
  • To enter the ballot, eligible Indian citizens will need to provide their name, date of birth, passport details, a scan or photo of their passport, phone number, and email address.
  • It is important to ensure that all applicants meet the financial, educational, and other requirements to apply for the visa.
  • Essential documentation for Ballot entry:
  1. Name
  2. Date of birth
  3. Passport details
  4. A scan or photo of your passport
  5. Phone number
  6. Email address

Successful entries

  • Successful entries will be randomly selected from the ballot, and the results will be sent to the applicants via email within two weeks of the ballot closing.
  • Once selected, applicants will have 90 days to apply for the visa online. This will require payment of the visa application fee, including the immigration health surcharge, and the provision of biometrics.
  • If successful in the ballot but choose not to apply for the visa, one do not need to tell them.
  • The cost of the visa is £298.

Unsuccessful entries

  • The results of the ballot are final. One cannot appeal if they are unsuccessful but can enter in future ballots.
