Symptoms of HMPV
Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a respiratory virus that causes all types of sicknesses from relatively mild, common cold-like manifestations to serious acute respiratory problems, predominantly in children, the elderly, and those with depressed immunity.

According to the China CDC, HMPV commonly causes a cough, which may be dry or productive, as part of the body’s response to respiratory tract inflammation caused by the virus.

General muscle pains and aches are common because of viral infection, such as HMPV, which includes inflammation and general stress on the body to respond to such infection.

A mild to moderate headache may appear due to systemic effects of the virus, dehydration or sinus pressure commonly associated with flu-like symptoms
