NEW DELHI: InOrbit Mall in the Vashi area of Navi Mumbai received a
bomb threat
on Saturday, which later turned out to be a
hoax
as no
suspicious objects
were found following
anti-sabotage checks
.
According to officials, the mall received the threat via email at around 11:59 a.m., which read: “Hello there, I planted bombs in the building. Every person inside the building will be killed.”
The mall was immediately
evacuated
, and the Bomb Detection Squad, along with sniffer dogs, ATS officials, and Fire Brigade personnel, was deployed.
“The search was called off at around 2:50 p.m., and the mall was reopened to the public at around 3 p.m.,” an official said.
Police are investigating the source of the email and trying to identify its sender.
