However, did you know that the late Punjabi singer was once offered to do a film with Sridevi? Yes, you read that right! According to a report from India Today, Amar Singh Chamkila’s fame and charm were so immense that even the iconic actress, Sridevi, expressed interest in collaborating with him.

Chamkila declined the offer, citing his lack of proficiency in Hindi to the late actress. Despite Sridevi’s suggestion for

, he declined, citing financial concerns of losing Rs. 10 lakh. Sridevi also expressed interest in collaborating on a Punjabi film with Chamkila, which unfortunately never materialised.

In the interview, Amar Singh Chamkila’s friend described the singer as a “gem of a person.” Recounting an incident from 1986, the friend mentioned that Chamkila visited his home to see his sick mother and generously gave them Rs. 10,000, a significant sum at that time.
