RAIPUR: Students pelted

stones and chappals

at a teacher for coming to school in an

intoxicated condition

in a government school. The incident took place in the

Bastar district

of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
Fed up with teachers coming to school drunk and harassing students in some way or the other, students took a stand against the teacher this time.

A video of the school at Pallibhata village shows the teacher driving his bike out of the premises as children throw things at him. District collector of Bastar,

Vijay Dayaram K

, has ordered a probe against the teacher after the video went viral on social media.
The block education officer said the teacher would face consequences based on the report.

The video shows the teacher haphazardly starting his bike to escape the premises as children throw stones and chappals at him. Students told officers that the teacher would often come to school drunk and trouble them. The teacher was accused of sleeping on floor in classrooms and hurling abuse at kids.
Such incidents of teachers coming to school in inebriated conditions is a common scene in Chhattisgarh and they face disciplinary actions when the cases are highlighted. There have been matters when drunk teachers had demanded body massage from students, beaten students, resorted to verbal abuse, sleeping in class etc.
