Bastar cop dies in encounter with Maoists

RAIPUR: A constable of

Bastar

Fighters was killed during an

encounter

with

Maoists

that took place in Hidur forest under Chhotebethiya police station in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday morning. A

Maoist

was also eliminated in the encounter.
The deceased constable has been identified as Ramesh Kureti (25). Search operations were on around the encounter site, said IK Elesela, superintendent of police, Kanker. He said an AK-47 rifle was seized from the encounter site.
