Apple event expected date
Apple typically unveils its new iPhones in early September. Based on past events, the
iPhone 16 series
launch event may be hosted on September 10.
Pre-orders might begin about three days later, possibly on September 13, while the phones may hit stores a week after that, potentially on September 20. This timeline aligns with reports from South Korean carriers, who anticipate receiving iPhones for an international launch around that time.
Apple iPhone 16 series expected features
On the design front, the rumours suggest that Apple is using an enhanced process for finishing and colouring titanium which may lead to a glossier appearance compared to the brushed aluminum finish of the iPhone 15 Pro models. This glossy finish may be similar to the stainless steel used in previous years but it is expected to offer better scratch resistance.
While the official colour names haven’t been confirmed, Apple is likely to continue using the Titanium branding from the iPhone 15 Pro models.
The 2024 iPhones will run
iOS 18
operating system. The series may offer four phones – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The comparatively ‘affordable’ iPhones – iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to be powered by A18 Bionic chipset. While the Pro models – iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are tipped to come equipped with A18 Pro processor.
Apple watch 10 series, Watch Ultra 3 and more
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple may unveil its Watch series 10 along with Apple Watch Ultra 3. It is also expected that the company may bring an affordable third-generation Apple watch SE.
In addition, an updated AirPods version is expected – Apple AirPods 4. According to rumours, the earbuds may come powered by H2 chipset and may offer an improved battery life. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that the company may announce two models of AirPods 4 with USB Type-C charging port.
