Ananya Panday has left the movie buffs spellbound with her performance in her latest release ‘

CTRL

’ directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film released directly on

Netflix

is a

cyber-thriller

, which revolves around the intervention of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our lives. ‘CTRL’ started premiering today (Oct 4).
Social media platforms are flooded with reviews from cinephiles, who managed to watch the film on the first day.

A movie buff drew comparisons between ‘CTRL’ and Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘RaOne’ and wrote, “Vikramaditya Motwane’s #CTRL is similar to RaOne; an artificially intelligent entity becoming self-aware and having bad intentions, taking control of the user’s life and doing shady sh*t. Interesting movie.”

An X user stated that the film is a ‘cautionary tale of a horrifying future’, “#CTRL: WE ARE DOOMED. #VikramAdityaMotwane showcases a cautionary tale of a horrifying future! A population dependent on technology, unbeknownst to its legal & moral implications! The screenplay builds from being playful to horrifying! Genuinely will make you introspect.”

Another movie buff found the film fascinating and wrote, “Found Vikramaditya Motwane’s new Netflix film #CTRL utterly fascinating. So much to admire. An ambitious, timely, deeply uncomfortable screen life thriller that’ll make you want to change your passwords, cover your webcam and move to the hills.”

Ananya Panday’s performance also received appreciation from the viewers. A netizen wrote, “How much control do we really have over our lives in this AI-backed digital world? #CTRLonNetflix is an engaging thriller using talents to its best in an Indian ‘Black Mirror’. Ananya Panday shines through. Motwane supremacy! Pretty good watch.”

Meanwhile, ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5 and called it a ‘Slick and stylish with a skewed narrative’.
