Mahua Moitra

has made public a WhatsApp conversation she had with her mother, where the latter expressed readiness to fight her daughter’s battle if central agencies arrest Mahua.
“Keep a power-of-attorney ready in my name. In case they pick you up, I will file the nomination,” Mahua’s mother Manju is seen telling her daughter in the chat.

Mahua tweeted, citing her mom’s message: “My mother’s answer to the BJP’s daily ED/CBI lovefest. You rock Mummy, the original Sherni!”
Mahua’s decision to share the personal chat comes in the wake of a six-hour-and-45-minute

CBI search

on her parents’ home in Kolkata’s Alipore, which yielded no results. CBI teams also searched the former MP’s home in Nadia and poll offices. Her response came after ED filed an FIR against her for alleged foreign-exchange and money-laundering violations in the cash-for-query case. ED confirmed the FIR on Tuesday.
“Khule hai BJP ke dwaar, aa jao nahi to abh ke baar Tihar (BJP’s door is open, come over or you will land in Tihar)!” Mahua’s post added.

“Like we have the party women’s wing, the youth wing, BJP has ED and CBI wings. Like we start our day by offering puja, they (the agencies) do the same by lodging FIRs against us,” Mahua told reporters on Wednesday before visiting Bhimpur and Asannagar areas of Krishnanagar constituency.
Both CM Mamata Banerjee and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee have extended support to Mahua after she was expelled from Lok Sabha two months ago. Her party re-nominated her from Krishnanagar, and the CM restarted her poll campaign from Mahua’s constituency after her injury last month.
