Trade analyst Atul Mohan told ETimes, “Pushpa was the first major commercial hit after the pandemic, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021 and securing its place among the top-grossing Telugu films of all time. Despite initially lacking multiplex support, the film rewrote box office rules and became a massive success in single-screen theaters across mass-market centers.”
Allu Arjun has been a known face in the northern states, and most of his dubbed films are well received in these territories. Some of his dubbed films, like Surya The Soldier, have been superhits. Exhibitor and distributor Raj Bansal said, “Allu Arjun is showing his power in the North, and there is no doubt that he is even bigger than Ram Charan. The madness one saw at the trailer launch in Patna was proof of it.”

There is a special fondness for Allu Arjun in Bihar. A senior media person said, “He is like our Bhojpuri actor Nirahua; the people feel he is just like them, and Pushpa also talks about the rise of the common man.”
South Indian cinema is renowned for its extravagant trailer launches, characterized by grand events that attract significant media attention and feature the star cast prominently. Trade analyst Girish Wankhede said, “By replicating this South Indian tradition in Patna, the filmmakers are not only showcasing their roots but also extending this cultural element to the North in an impactful manner. This blending of regional styles will resonate with audiences and create a unique cinematic experience.”

He added, “The film is set to join the Rs 1000 crore club and is sure to take an opening of Rs 100 crore.”

Pushpa 2

will see Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprise their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Allu Arjun, the main lead of the film, received a National Film Award for his performance in the first part. The first part of Pushpa showcased power tussles set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. The film is set to hit the theatres on December 5.
