The much-awaited ‘Jigra’ premiere, which stars Vedang Raina and Alia Bhatt, took place in Mumbai on Wednesday night. The event was a star-studded event affair. Stars like Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Rashmika Mandanna, Khushi Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Neetu Kapoor, Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Karan Johar, Abhimanyu Dassani and others stepped out in style to attend the screening.
The movie’s lead actress, Alia Bhatt, looked super-chic and stylish in a black tank top and white wide-leg pants, radiating her typical minimalist look.
Shaheen Bhatt, her sister, joined her, and Neetu Kapoor, her mother-in-law, also showed up to cheer on her “bahu.” Neetu opted for a smart-casual ensemble, dressing in traditional blue trousers and a black jacket over a plain white shirt.
Rashmika Mandanna, who recently worked in ‘Animal’ alongside Alia’s actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor, also attended the screening wearing a white t-shirt with high-waisted denim. Vedang Raina, who portrays the character of Alia’s brother in ‘Jigra’, looked effortlessly stylish as she arrived in a laid-back all-black ensemble. He wore a hoodie that featured the name of Jigra’s director, Vasan Bala. ‘Archies’ actress Khushi Kapoor also attended the screening to support her rumoured beau Vedang. She looked casual yet cool in a black t-shirt with flared denim jeans and sports shoes.
‘Jigra’ producer Karan Johar was also present. He made a public appearance alongside his business partner Apoorva Mehta. The duo made headlines recently when
Dharma Productions
declared they were going to halt media pre-release screenings. Johar and Mehta revealed in a joint statement that the production company made this choice in order to maintain the thrill and experience of seeing movies in theaters.
The statement read, “After much deliberation, we’ve decided to forgo pre-release screenings for our upcoming films. However, we will continue to host screenings for the press on release day for timely reviews.” The announcement has received mixed reactions from the industry, while some have praised the effort to maintain the theatrical experience, others have voiced concerns about the timing of reviews.
Meanwhile, Jigra is scheduled to be released on the big screens on October 11, 2024. Alia is the co-producer of the film and Vasan Bala has directed the film.
