Reflecting on the sequence of events, Rahul revealed that their first meeting occurred during the 2012 India vs. Pakistan cricket match in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This was part of the promotions for Akshay’s film ‘Housefull 2’, in which Asin starred. Since Micromax was a sponsor of the Asia Cup, the event became the backdrop for their initial interaction. Jokingly, Rahul referred to Dhaka as the “most romantic place on Earth” where he met his future wife.
During the match, Rahul and Asin exchanged greetings but did not engage in a deep conversation. It was Akshay who later suggested they might be compatible, describing Asin as a simple, grounded individual with a strong sense of professionalism. He also highlighted similarities in their values and backgrounds, mentioning Asin’s family—a mother who is a doctor and a father with a service background.
