Varun Dhawan‘s massy film ‘Baby John’ is set to hit the screens on December 25. While the Christmas time and the whole new year holiday vibe is considered great for movies and one has seen many hits in the past, ‘Baby John’ is facing a huge competition from ‘
Pushpa 2
‘.This Allu Arjun starrer had released on December 5 and it still continues to dominate the box office. The film has made Rs 958 crore in the span of 14 days in India in all languages. And shall continue to dominate over the coming days. Amidst, that, ‘Baby John’ would really have to be damn good and entertaining to make a mark.
A new report suggests that the makers are quite confident about their product. According to Pinkvilla, producer Murad Khetani has confirmed that the movie is releasing in 3000 screens across the country. This is certainly a wide release. Now the question would be if the Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi starrer gets enough number of shows and good shows from the exhibitors. While on the opening day, theatres may agree to give the film more shows, if it doesn’t show a good result on the opening weekend itself, they would again have more shows of ‘Pushpa 2’. It all works on the demand and supply logic.
However, 3000 screens is a very good number for a film of this stature to release as it promises a lot of massy appeal and entertainment. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam 2’ had also released in the same number of screens.
‘Baby John’ directed by Kalees is produced by ‘Jawan’ director Atlee along with Murad Khetani.
