The diverse wildlife of India has animals that are both unique and rare. But unfortunately, many of them are on the decline, despite conservation efforts, and are a part of the endangered list. Here we mention 10 animals declared endangered in India.

The top animal on the list is the Bengal tiger. Even though their population is steadily increasing owing to conservation efforts, they are still a part of the Endangered species.

The pride of Gujarat, and India, the Asiatic lion is another wild cat in the endangered list. It is found in the Gir Forest of Gujarat, and is one of the rarest big cats in the world.

A beautiful big cat, the Snow leopard is elusive and very hard to spot. Unfortunately, it is also on the endangered list due to loss of habitat and poaching.
