Dogs

Dogs are called a man’s best friend, and rightly so. They are smart and can communicate with their owners by barking, whining, body language, and even different types of eye contacts.

Cats

Cats can communicate their feelings and moods by vocalising different types of sounds, including– meowing, purring, and hissing– as well as with body language like tail flicks, slow blinking, etc. Some cats can also mimic the sounds their owners to communicate with them!

Indian Ringneck Parakeets

Indian Ringneck Parakeets are excellent talkers! They can also learn words, by mimicking the tone and pitch of their owners.

Some fish species

Some common pet fish breeds, like goldfish and gouramis, are intelligent enough to recognise their owners. They can also express their excitement on seeing their owners or “talk” to them by getting active or coming closer to the tank glass or to the top upon seeing them.

African Grey Parrots

Known as one of the best talking bird species, African Greys can learn hundreds of words and even understand context.

Guinea Pigs
