A surprising
fallout
occurred between
Aamir Khan
and
Juhi Chawla
during the filming of Ishq, leading to a
rift
that lasted nearly seven years. Despite their successful on-screen chemistry in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and Ishq, the tension between the two actors remained hidden from their fans.
The trouble began on the set of Ishq when Aamir, along with co-star Ajay Devgn, played a series of
practical jokes
on Juhi.
The pranks escalated to the point where Juhi became genuinely upset. In an interview, she recalled, “He made me cry with his pranks, and after our last fight, I got really mad at him and didn’t turn up for the shoot the next day, which made him very angry. We stopped talking to each other. Both of us felt that we were angry with each other, and we assumed that now we wouldn’t talk to each other ever. We didn’t speak for about five to seven years.”
The silence between them persisted even as Ishq became a major success. However, things began to change when Juhi reached out to Aamir during a difficult period in his life. In 2002, when Aamir was going through his divorce with Reena Dutta, Juhi contacted him, hoping to mend their fractured friendship. Aamir later revealed in a media interaction, “When she got to know about my divorce with Reena, she called me up and asked to meet. Juhi had been close to both Reena and me and she wanted to sort out our differences. We might not have been on talking terms but had continued to care for each other.”
This gesture marked the beginning of their
reconciliation
, demonstrating that despite the long silence, the bond they shared was strong enough to overcome their differences.
