In the video, Daley, initially shirtless, proudly holds up the red, blue, and white sweater, detailing its design.

“We got ‘Paris 24’ on the front with the French and the British flag on the bottom, and ‘Daley’ on the back,” he explains. After slipping it on, he highlights additional features like his initials ‘TD’ on the left sleeve and the number five on the other sleeve, signifying his participation in five Olympic Games.

Daley first hinted at this project in an Instagram post on July 17, where he mentioned he would be working on a sweater while in Paris. “My 5th Olympics is underway! I just wanted to jump in here and say a big thank you for all the support, and to let you know that we have so many exciting things coming up for #madewithlove,” he wrote, sharing sketches of his design.
The sweater was also featured on the Instagram account of Daley’s knitwear brand, Made with Love by Tom Daley. Reflecting on his creation, Daley noted, “It’s always so fun to have this as a little bit of a memory from my time here in Paris. But I think it’s cute. What do you think?” His love for knitting first gained widespread attention during the Tokyo Olympics, where he was often seen working on projects between events.

Daley’s latest Olympic venture saw him come out of retirement to secure a silver medal alongside Noah Williams for Team Great Britain in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform event at the Paris Aquatics Center on Monday, July 29. “I’ve seen the amount of work and love that he put into it this time. It was at a different level. And I know it’s cause of these guys and them getting to see him dive today was so special already, just arriving here,” he said, reflecting on his return to competitive diving.

In a conversation with Olympics.com, Daley addressed the possibility of the 2024 Paris Olympics being his last. “Who knows you know? I’ll definitely be there,” he remarked about the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. “I don’t know in what capacity – anything can happen in four years. I’m an old man already. I’ll be 34 then so yeah, we’ll see.”
Daley’s knitting and diving journeys continue to inspire many, merging his athletic achievements with his creative passion for knitwear.
