on Sunday ahead of the three-match ODI series against
Sri Lanka
starting August 2.
It was reported on Monday that Rohit,
Virat Kohli
and a few other players will start their training to prepare for the series.
Now a video is doing the rounds where Rohit can be seen talking to former Sri Lanka captain
Angelo Mathews
.
The two veterans spend quite a few minutes talking to each other before Rohit walks back to the dressing room.
All the three matches of the ODI series against Sri Lanka are scheduled to be played at
R Premadasa Stadium
in Colombo.
Having already taken an assailable lead in the three-match T20I series, the Indian T20I team under
Suryakumar Yadav
is scheduled to play the third and final match on Tuesday in Pallekele.
Almost a month after helping India win the T20 World Cup in the Americas, Rohit, Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav will hit the ground running.
Shreyas Iyer
will also make his comeback to the national team during the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Iyer last appeared for India in a December limited-overs match against South Africa in late 2023.
The ODI series will also be the first assignment of
Gautam Gambhir
and Rohit Sharma together as Team India coach and captain.
