NEW DELHI: A minor fire broke out near one of Delhi Airport‘s runways Thursday afternoon due to which
aircraft
that were to aircraft which to move near the affected area were asked to
hold
.
“There was a
grass fire
which has been extinguished. Four aircraft were on hold (for some time due to that),” said a senior
DGCA
official.
A passenger on one of those flights,
Air India
801 to Trivandrum, said: “We were supposed to take off at 3.10 pm.
The pilot announced that
flights
are being held up because there is fire on departure
runway
. We are waiting to leave for the destination.”
