A famous temple in Kolkata is where the toes of Mata Sati fell. The Kalighat temple is a powerful shaktipeeth in India, and Mata Sati is worshipped in the form of Maa Kali in this temple. The temple has a very energetic and bright environment all through the year, and the spiritual energy that it holds is surreal to say the least. Devotees ask Maa Kali for protection, strength, and a safe haven from negativity.

Another famous and powerful Shaktipeeth that is not in India is the Hinglaj Mata temple. It is located in Balochistan, Pakistan, and it is believed that the head of Mata Sati fell here. The Muktinath temple is another powerful Shaktipeeth that is not located in India. A Shaktipeeth in Nepal, Muktinath is said to be the place where the forehead of Mata Sati fell. But, some people also claim that this spot was actually where the whole head of Mata Sati fell. It is believed that one visit to Muktinath can cleanse the sins of devotees and grant them ‘mukti’ or liberation from the cycles of birth and death.
