Lock in the moisture for natural shine
There is something attractive about the light-catching lustre that mainly indicates that you have naturally shiny and healthy hair. However, everyday exposure to pollution, hard water showers, and over-the-top hair styling products and tools can decrease the condition and health of your hair. The truth is, for shiny hair to be moisture-locked with frizz-free detailing. If your hair is dry then a shine spray can help you to an extent with a temporary gloss. If you wish to have natural shiny and healthy hair, then it’s time to get serious.

Start applying apple cider vinegar
If you wish to have glossy-shiny locks then start applying apple cider vinegar every day and add 2-3 drops of essential oils for better results. Every day apply this liquid on your scalp which acts as a protectant against hard water residue and product buildup. Apple cider vinegar also cleanses the pollutants from the hair scalp providing strong and healthy locks. It also locks in the moisture level retaining shine.

Start focusing on skin-friendly ingredients
If you’re using hair mist and serums every day on your hair to lock in the moisture then better start opting for natural and skin-friendly ingredients which won’t cause any side effects and would fix your hair issues without causing any additional harm. If you wish to have long silky and shiny locks then start using rosemary, hibiscus, or rice water mists every day which stimulates hair growth and also locks in the moisture, bringing in 24 hours of natural shine.

Brush Daily With a Boar Bristle Brush
Start opting for soft-end brushes which won’t rip off the scalp skin causing inflammation and dry scalp issues. 100 brush strokes with a hard finish can be a tad extreme as our sebaceous glands produce natural oils to lubricate the scalp and hard brushes can interrupt this process causing intense harm and effect to the roots. Using natural scalp oils to share the natural lustre is also an effective tactic to lock in the natural shine. Therefore, depending on your scalp and hair texture, use a soft and natural brush that will close the hair cuticles and create a natural shine.

Switch to a silk pillowcase
The smooth and soft finish of the silk surface minimises the friction between your hair and the pillowcase reducing issues of dirt, oil, and product buildup on the scalp. If you wish to have a frizz-free end with a natural shine, start using silk pillowcases every day and clean your pillowcase every week. Silk causes less friction to your hair and leaves you with healthier and shinier hair every day.

Start washing your hair with cold water
Hot shower baths can be soothing but icy cold water in the shower shuts all the cuticles down making them lay flat so our strands won’t twinkle and break. The outer layer of our hair has cuticles which are like tiles on the roof and the more they become uneven and curled up they will start to look dull as they won’t absorb the light. You can use hot water only when you’re conditioning as the humidity from the hot water opens up the cuticle allowing the nutrients from the conditioner to soak into the cuticles delivering a nourished hair.
