3 of family killed as house roof collapses due to rain in Punjab’s Faridkot

: Three members of a family, including a seven months pregnant woman, died whereas one person sustained injuries after the roof of their house collapsed due to rain at Kotkapura town of Punjab‘s Faridkot district, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The family members were asleep when the roof collapsed at around 4am.
A girl has been rescued who was trapped in the rubble and admitted at Guru Gobind Singh medical college in Faridkot for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Gurpreet Singh (31), his pregnant wife Karamjit Kaur (30), 4-year-old son Gavy and a 15-year-old girl named Manisha, a relative living in the neighbourhood but was sleeping with the family. Upon hearing loud noise, the neighbours reached there and informed the authorities.

Faridkot deputy commissioner Vineet Kumar said that due to rains, water stagnating in the plot adjacent to the house and affected the outer wall. The wall had cracks and the roof collapsed.
