Bengaluru: Police in Bengaluru made three arrests Monday in connection with the alleged shouting of pro-Pakistan slogans in Vidhana Soudha during the victory celebrations of
Congress
candidate
Syed Nazeer Hussain
after the Feb 27
Rajya Sabha
polls.
Those arrested were identified as Iltaj, Munawar, and Md Nashipudi. “We arrested the trio based on evidence, including forensic report and circumstantial proof,” DCP (Central) Shekhar H Tekkannavar said.
State home minister G Parameshwara said he was unaware of the arrests until media brought it to his attention.
“Cops have been given free hand to investigate,” he said.
The sloganeering set off a political row, with BJP accusing Congress of delaying release of the report from FSL.
