2024 Honda City hatchback revealed: Gets ADAS and hybrid powertrain


Japanese automaker


launched the Honda City hatchback a year ago, and now the company have given it a big update in the form of cosmetic changes, additional features, added safety and also by introducing a new hybrid powertrain. The new City hatchback is now offered in five variants with prices starting from 599,000 baht (about Rs 13.9 lakh at current exchange rates).

Talking about the cosmetic updates, the City hatch gets re-designed front and rear bumpers with a new grille.

It also gets a slimmer chrome strip at the front with sleek LED headlights. The RS variants feature a blacked-out grille with an aggressive design for the bumpers. At the rear, the changes are minimal it gets LED taillights with blacked-out lower aprons and the RS trims get a sporty diffuser.

Moving inside, the overall layout remains the same except for a few tweaks. The hatchback gets USB-C ports with a dedicated smartphone inner pocket for rear passengers. Other features include a multi-angle reverse camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless

The car now also gets the


suite which includes features such as Low-Speed Follow, Lead Car Departure notification, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and more. Talking about the powertrain, the City hatch gets two engine options – a 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo petrol engine with 121bhp of power and 173Nm of peak torque. Another engine is the 97 hp, 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle hybrid petrol engine with a 108 hp electric motor.
