At least 2 Air Warriors swooned during parade at Tambaram Air Force Station in Chennai
CHENNAI: At least two
air warriors
fainted during the 92nd anniversary parade of the
IAF
at
Tambaram Air Force Station
in Chennai on Tuesday. The incident occurred two days after at least five spectators died of sunstroke and dehydration after watching the
airshow
on
Marina Beach
on Sunday.
On Tuesday morning, in the scorching heat, a parade by at least 300 men, including officers, and an aerobatic demonstration were held at the Air Force Station Tambaram as part of the anniversary celebrations.
The Chief of
Defence Staff
,
General Anil Chauhan
, and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, attended the event.
As the parade began, a few of the warriors fainted. The medical team rushed to the spot and took them for treatment.
Following the parade, the men performed rifle-flipping drills.
The audience was also treated to an aerobatics show by Sukhoi,
Tejas
, and other aircraft of the IAF.
