14 children in Rajasthan’s Kota were electrocuted during a Mahashivratri procession. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. Amrita Duhan, SP, said one child is in a serious condition with 100% burns. Police are investigating the sad incident.
NEW DELHI: At least 14 children were injured after getting in contact with a
live wire
during a procession on the occasion of Mahashivratri in
Rajasthan’s Kota
on Friday.
The children who suffered the
electric shock
were rushed to a nearby hospital.
“It’s a very sad incident. People from the Kaali Basti were gathered here with their Kalash, a child was carrying a pipe of 20-22 ft that touched the
high-tension wire
. In an attempt to save that child, all the children present there were electrocuted,” said Amrita Duhan,
SP
, Kota.
She further added that the priority was to give the children proper treatment.
One of the kids is said to be in a serious condition after suffering 100 per cent burns. Police hace launched an
investigation
in the incident.
