Learning the love language of children:
How your child communicates with you shows if they’re living a life of fulfilment when it comes to your love and support. If not, notice these signs because your love language might need to be tweaked.
They have been complaining
If your child often complains that you’re late from work again or you did not come to watch him perform on the school’s annual day, you need some serious self introspection to do.
They show tantrums
Not all tantrums are to be ignored. Sometimes, kids act that way because they’re screaming for your love. Make sure you’re affirming your love often.
They say the forbidden things
Children often act as thugs when they want to protest against something awful. In such times, a parent needs to display kindness and love while softly drawing the line on their behaviour.
They do not talk
If a child has stopped talking at all or is unusually quiet, something must be eating them up on the inside. Take your kid out for a walk and speak about random things unless they think they can share it with you.
They act strange
If your child has been acting weird like keeping his room unusually dirty or has banned his friends recently, make sure you cook them something special and eat with them just the 2 of you. This will give validation to your love and help them calm down.
They embarrass you
A child’s rebellion comes out when they decide to embarrass you in front of others. While schooling them instantly may feel like a quick solution, having a one on one conversation about why they choose to do it may help you understand them better.
They stay in their room
If a child has barred himself inside his room and has given up on social life and friends entirely, they’re in need of some serious help. Sit with your child patiently in their room and bring him snacks in there. Maybe, with time they’ll be ready to get back to the world again.
They talk back
In case, your child has been giving you a little bit of sass in everything you say, you need to quit talking and act more. Certain acts of love like writing a cute note of love in their lunch box or helping them with their home work may help them realize that they’re dear to you.
They ask questions
When your child asks you certain questions like how am I doing? Does this look okay? They are constantly seeking your love and support from you. Put in some kind words and be their cheerleader for life.
